FLORIDA TO REMOVE CONTROVERSIAL FLOCK CAMERAS FROM STATE HIGHWAYS The Florida Department of Transportation on Aug. 31 announced a 30-day deadline for removing Flock cameras and other license plate readers from state roads and highways. IRAQI PRIME MINISTER CALLS RETURN OF CHRISTIANS A NATIONAL PRIORITY After decades of instability and violence, fewer than 300,000 Christians remain in Iraq, but Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi recently announced efforts to grow the Christian population. “The return of Christians who were forced to leave the country due to the difficult circumstances Iraq endured is a national and government priority,” he said. DATA: MORE THAN 100 GIRLS AGED 12 AND UNDER FORCED INTO MARRIAGES IN UK New numbers from the British government reveal that more than 100 children have been referred to a special victims unit focusing on forced marriages. Nearly 30 of those children were under the age of 5. The increase in forced marriages follows reports of Muslim immigrants abducting and marrying underage girls. READ

QUEBEC CARDINAL WINS DEFAMATION LAWSUIT OVER SEXUAL ASSAULT CLAIMS Four years after former curial official Cardinal Marc Ouellet was accused of sexual assault, a Canadian court has determined that the allegations were false and awarded Ouellet thousands of dollars in damages. According to the court, the cardinal’s accuser shifted and changed her stories and allegations so often and so substantially that they could not be trusted. READ

BENEDICTINE SISTERS JOIN DOMINICANS IN CHALLENGING NY GENDER IDEOLOGY MANDATE The Missionary Sisters of St. Benedict and St. Joseph’s Home for the Aged joined a lawsuit filed by the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne against New York’s Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul and her administration, seeking relief from a mandate requiring the religious sisters to house hospice and elder care patients in rooms according to their “gender identities." READ
