Put a two-year-old in a room and tell her she can't have the toy she wants.
She will let you know exactly how she feels. At full volume. With zero concern for whether it's convenient for you.
You were that toddler once.
Somewhere between then and now, most of us learned a lesson: that being easy to get along with mattered more than being honest about what we wanted or how we felt.
A compliment for being agreeable here.
A cold reaction to "no" there.
Enough of those, over enough years, and biting your tongue starts to feel less like a choice and more like your personality.
The good news? This is something you learned – which means it can be unlearned – and that's exactly where my free quiz comes in.
It’s just a few questions that diagnose which of the three most common Speak Up Barriers are keeping you from telling the truth about how you feel.
Once you understand what’s holding you back from speaking up, that barrier loses its power. And you can learn how to say what’s on your mind again (but with a bit more eloquence than a two-year-old).
That's why I created this quiz. In just three minutes you’ll learn which barrier is holding you back – and how you can start speaking up.
Talk soon,
