Nothing can stop V (Paris Berelc) from achieving her dreams: she's earned an esports scholarship to college and competes on the varsity gaming squad. But, fed up with misogynist treatment by her male cohorts, she quits the team, putting her future in jeopardy. V and fellow gamer friend Sloane (Hari Nef) form their own all-woman gaming team, under the guidance of their new professor, Parker (Ruby Rose). There's only one problem: the school can only afford to have one scholarship esports team. And the all-guy "Betas" will stop at nothing to make sure they are the only ones left standing. V, Sloane, and the hilarious-yet-loveable "8-Bits" will need to prove that they belong and most importantly, that they can game with the best of them.
