MERGER  A federal judge approved an antitrust settlement Sept. 30, clearing the way for Paramount Skydance to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery and resolving a challenge from 12 states that argued the merger would reduce competition and raise prices for viewers. Friend,   Is your voter registration up to date?   It’s one of those things we don’t think about very often, but should.   If you’ve moved within recent memory, been married and changed your name, or even changed your party affiliation, take a minute now to ensure you are eligible to vote this year. Several states have deadlines starting next week. You don’t want to miss out!   Here are some recommendations for a successful Election Day: Check your registration: This is simple to do online. There are instructions for updating your registration, as well. Most states offer online services. Register new voters: If you have newly-minted 18-year-olds in the family, encourage them to register and cast that memorable first vote. Request absentee ballots: If anyone in your household needs an absentee ballot, request it right away through your state of local election office. Vote early if you can: A lot of us love the experience of going to the polls on Election Day. But in today’s hyper-busy world, that’s not always possible. Learn about early voting in your area. The Catechism of the Catholic Church calls voting a moral obligation (CCC 2240). That’s why a significant part of our efforts involve making sure Catholics get to the polls.   CatholicVote believes every election matters. Our right to vote in this country is a blessing and we should exercise it every chance we get.
