| Located about 100 miles off the coast of New York City, the Hudson Canyon is home to at least 200 species, including sperm whales, sea turtles and deep-sea corals. The proposal, which will be subject to public comment and could take a year or more to complete, would give the area some of the same protections afforded to national parks. |
