I'm a writer on the market team. I'm a Bronx-born, Brooklyn-based musical theater nerd, tattoo addict, comedy fan, and sleep-obsessed Taurus. Though I claim not to have a favorite color, all the pink in my room absolutely begs to disagree. Since joining the team, my like for shopping has turned into a mildly problematic love. This gorgeous and tragic story of generational trauma and Black female friendship/sisterhood left me truly speechless upon finishing. I learned that one of the most haunting lines I'd ever heard actually came from "Sula": "My lonely is mine. Now your lonely is somebody else's. Made by somebody else and handed to you." I mean, come on.  Photo: Selkie One of my friends had a similar Selkie dress hanging from her door when I visited, and I immediately went to the website and bought my own. I have yet to wear this bubblegum pink, floral masterpiece because there's yet to be an event worthy of it, but it makes me so happy to see it in my closet. Selkie uses a pre-order format so they don't create more clothes than they need to, which means less production waste. I have a lottt of things from Dumbgood, but this beanie is probably my fave. And they look great over long, knotless braids. IYKYK.  Photo: Taylor Steele These chunky sole sneaks make me feel so cute. Not only because it adds a little height to my 5'4" stature, but because they can be worn with everything. They're neutral and so clearly well-made, I've worn them with jeans, dresses, shorts -- everything. They're definitely on the $pencey side, but they also help my sad knees and lower back not feel like trash on long-ish walks.
