News Alert: Shutdown orders prevented about 60 million U.S. coronavirus infections through early April, study finds

A study published Monday finds that shutdown orders prevented about 285 million coronavirus infections in China and about 60 million in the United States. A separate study estimated that stay-at-home orders and other restrictions saved about 3.1 million lives in 11 European countries and effectively dropped infection rates below epidemic levels. Both reports appear in the journal Nature.
