Science Alert: NOAA predicts unusually busy hurricane season, potentially taxing government's response capacity amid pandemic

The outlook calls for 13 to 19 named storms in the tropical Atlantic Ocean, six to 10 of which will become hurricanes and three to six may become major hurricanes of Category 3 or greater. An average season produces 12 named storms and six hurricanes.
