News Alert: White House to urge Americans to routinely wear face coverings in public to slow coronavirus spread

Officials will recommend that face coverings be worn in public because of increasing evidence that infected people without symptoms can spread the coronavirus, according to a federal official involved in the response. But the guidance, which reverses earlier policy, makes clear the general public should not wear medical masks, including surgical and N95 masks. One option is cloth coverings made at home.
