Like many hospitals across the country, Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton, Pa., wasn't prepared for the influx of covid-19 patients in the absence of vast quantities of protective gear. But measures by its parent company led administrators to order staff to shuttle between floors, where staffers feared they would infect cancer patients and babies. The hospital issued new policies after questioning by The Washington Post, and executives took pay cuts to help suffering medical workers. |
