Health Alert: FDA approves first marijuana-derived drug, which will target severe epilepsy

The Food and Drug Administration has approved Epidiolex, an oral solution that contains highly purified cannabidiol, a chemical found in the cannabis plant. The drug was cleared as a treatment for Lennox-Gastaut and Dravet syndromes, which cause daily seizures and put individuals at high risk for disability, injury and early death.
