| Hello and welcome to the Computerworld UK weekly digest. This week the headlines have been dominated by Mark Zuckerberg and his day in Congress, generating plenty of talk about the social network's business model, the importance of data privacy and a whole load of jokes and memes. The biggest story in B2B land may not have got the same attention, but German software vendor SAP announced a major change to the way it charges its customers this week as a response to the 'indirect access' scandal which erupted last year in a court case with UK drinks giant Diageo. We have the whole thing covered, including a timeline of the events that got us here. Elsewhere the Utah tech unicorn Qualtrics was in town to talk about its new machine learning capabilities, Splunk entered the IoT market and we assessed the best alternatives to the massively popular Slack messaging service. As ever, thanks for reading. Scott Carey Editor, Computerworld UK |
