Most of the planets that have been discovered orbiting distant stars are singletons or have only a few fellow planets. But today NASA and Google researchers announced they have found an eighth planet in the star system Kepler 90. The discovery used advanced technology called a neural network to comb through data obtained by the Kepler space observatory, which has scanned 150,000 stars since 2009 for signs of exoplanets. |
