The play follows the trajectory of Golda's life from Russian immigrant in the United States to prime minister of Israel, with a focus on the period surrounding the 1973 Yom Kippur War, a difficult and controversial time for Golda and for Israel. GOLDA'S BALCONY originally opened Off-Broadway in 2003, where it sold out its 16-week run.
