Science Alert: U.S. astronaut Christina Koch returns to Earth after 328 days in space, the longest-ever mission by a woman

Her mission to the International Space Station ended when she landed in Kazakhstan aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft, which has been ferrying American astronauts to and from the space station since the Space Shuttle fleet was retired in 2011.
