This week we have covered everything from open source data management, to Nigerian hacking fraternities here at Computerworld UK. Our lead story dives into the murky world of business email compromise scams, with our security correspondent digging into how SecureWorks unearthed a criminal splinter faction from a pirate symbology-obsessed Nigerian 'confraternity' which has been targeting the global maritime industry with scams potentially worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. We also had a reporter on the ground in Berlin this week for the open source data conference DataWorks Summit, reporting on the latest solutions from the vendor Hortonworks as well as some case studies, such as how Munich Re has built a data lake for all of its employees to access. Elsewhere the House of Lords AI Committee published the first major parliamentary inquiry into artificial intelligence this week, and we dig into what that means for SME's and the skills crisis in that fast-moving space. Enjoy the sunshine this weekend and see you next week. Scott Carey Editor, Computerworld UK |
