| Did you know that the first annular slide valve, the predecessor of today’s plunger valve, was made at our Mannheim plant as early as 1932? Quality is often a question of experience and numerous small details: Here we are describing just one essential feature of the VAG RIKO® Plunger Valve: On its inside, a four-side sealing Quadring is used as a double seal between the body and the movable plunger. What’s the advantage compared to the conventional O-ring that is used by many other manufacturers? As the plunger performs a longitudinal motion to open and close the valve, there is a risk of the seal being twisted if a conventional O-ring is used. The Quadring, however, never twists and ensures reliable tightness even at high-load cycles. | | | | |
