Hello, everyone! Kirby's out on a well-deserved vacation this week, and I'll be taking over her newsletter duties while she's away! You didn't think we'd leave you without your twice-weekly dose of "Chronically Online," did you? After all, no healthy internet diet is complete without it. So without further ado, let's dive right in—we've got plenty to discuss! Love, Evan ✨ |

The TSwift-pocalypse If you couldn't tell from what I had to say about the Met Gala, I can be a massive hater at times. And you know what? I'm at peace with that. Naturally, then, I was tickled pink by this TikTok of the crowd returning home from Taylor Swift's show in Atlanta a few days ago. The way they rush onto that train! It's truly giving apocalypse. There are only a few artists I'd suffer a crowd like that to see, and Taylor isn't one of them (even though "Shake It Off" is, admittedly, a bop). Let this be a warning: If you're going to the "Eras" tour, spring for an Uber home—it'll still be cheaper than whatever you paid for tickets. |

Is Hollywood "Done For"? An AI-generated video has been making the rounds on Twitter after user @realchasecurtis tweeted it along with the caption that "Hollywood is done for." Plenty online begged to differ, however, pointing out the obvious issues with the video's rendering—floating limbs, six-fingered hands, distorted faces, etc. Still, AI is getting creepily good! Perhaps with the writers strike, Hollywood needs all the help it can get. But does this spell the end for good old-fashioned filmmaking? We're obviously still a while away from fully AI-generated entertainment, but it's on the horizon. Let's just hope our new robot overlords don't decide to do away with the "Real Housewives." |

Francesca Stugot Out! Call me immature, but I love a good prank call. Unlike those other "pranks" you see on the internet, calls are usually harmless, and can actually be pretty funny! Luckily for me, the humble prank call has been flourishing on TikTok. One creator in particualr, however, has recently been serving up some quality calls: @oliviaamariee, AKA "Francesca Stugot." (For those who haven't seen The Sopranos, "stugots" is slang for you know what). Basically, she gaslights unsuspecting college bros into believing that she met them at a bar. Sounds simple, right? Perhaps, but the calls are delightfully unhinged. |
