Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke on Tuesday called on President Trump to shrink two more national monuments and change the way a total of 10 are managed. Zinke's recommendations for Oregon's Cascade-Siskiyou and Nevada's Gold Butte sites further a sweeping overhaul of how protected areas are maintained in the United States. On Monday, Trump announced cuts amounting to 2 million acres from Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments. |
