We take great pride in bringing you the best and most up-to-date information about American politics and the Catholic Church every morning.
Do you know how it all started?
I was watching a debate about marriage on CNN. Piers Morgan had brought on outspoken lesbian Suze Orman and marriage advocate Ryan T. Anderson.
It was about what I expected: Piers hurled loaded questions at Anderson, painting him as a 'bigot' for holding a view on marriage that everybody shared just a few years earlier.
But what really struck me was where everyone was seated. Orman sat at the main interview table with Piers, while Anderson was relegated to sitting in the audience, as if it was undignified to have him sit at the table.
It was at that moment that I realized: this is a perfect summary of what media is today. Catholics no longer have a seat at the table.
And it also confirmed what so many of us now understand: Catholics simply cannot rely on mainstream media sources to present the world as a sincere Catholic sees it. It's not a fair game. They are not honest referees; they are trying to manipulate current events to further an agenda.
But my mantra is: Don't complain about the media. Be the media.
So, in a small act of rebellion, The LOOP was born.
Thanks to you, The LOOP has grown to reach over 700,000 people every day, keeping American Catholics updated on the news they care about the most.
So many people have told us that we need to share The LOOP with as many Catholics as we can.
Here's how you can do just that….
What fuels The LOOP is the generosity of our monthly donor program: The CV Champions Club.
Thanks to their help, we have been able to write our own NewsFeed stories, as well as reach many new subscribers.
If you love reading The LOOP every morning, please consider joining the CV Champions Club to help keep The LOOP running strong, and to help other Catholics find out about this great resource.
