How Republicans overhype the findings of their Hunter Biden probe We'd noticed an interesting pattern. When the House Oversight Committee staff issues reports on the committee's investigation of Hunter Biden, the president's son, the frame may be partisan but the language is careful. Then when lawmakers talk about the findings, the rhetoric gets stretched far beyond what the reports actually say. So "20 companies" linked to Biden in the reports gets rendered by Rep. And "$20 million in payments from foreign sources to the Biden family and their business associates" in the reports becomes $20 million just to the "Biden family" in congressional talking points. In a comprehensive fact check, we detail exactly what the reports say — and how different they are from the political rhetoric. Click the link to learn more. Trump campaign ad makes false claims against Atlanta DA Unlike many criminal defendants, former president Donald Trump is not shy about attacking prosecutors who have brought charges against him. His presidential campaign now is airing a one-minute television ad that devotes half to attacking Fani T. Willis (D), the district attorney for Georgia's Fulton County. After the ad appeared, Willis sent an email to her staff saying it contained "derogatory and false information about me." We assessed four statements made in the ad about Willis and concluded that three were worthy of Three or Four Pinocchios. Click the link to see our full report. Enjoy this newsletter?
