The best of the internet, right here, right now
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 2022 | | | We made it to Friday, you can relax now ๐. This week (and month) felt long, but tomorrow is officially the start of spooky season and the internet news stayed on theme! From right-wing Twitter getting mad at Lizzo to Hailey Beiber talking about Selener, the world wide web was a scary place this week. So grab a blanket and cozy up...because there's more where that came from. ✨ | | | The Try Guys Are Doing Triage Last week, we dissected the Adam Levine cheating story and somehow this week's biggest news isn't so different. You probably know the Try Guys (especially if you're subbed to this newsletter) and you *probably* have heard by now that Ned was caught cheating on his wife with his employee. To top things off, he was a certified Wife Guy™️, meaning his whole brand was loving his wife — the irony! The video proof was originally posted to Reddit, but made its way to Twitter. Obviously, the internet loved (to hate) that, and the entire sitch was skewered into oblivion. Ned's notes app apology (classic) especially went viral, with people recreating it. Overall, people had a lot — and I mean *a lot* — to say ๐. Maybe they'll work things out? Who knows... | | | Sci-Fi This, Fantasy That I have to admit: I'm a book nerd who ends up on Book Twitter a lot, so I was surprised to see Sci-Fi and Fantasy trending outside of my little bubble. It was all due to a new little joke format that had people comparing characteristics of the two genres. From calling out crossover actors to total clichรฉs to the sweet sounds of fandom, Twitter had plenty of ways to note their differences...or lack thereof. | | | Is there a hot, new TikTok trend coming across your FYP? See a tweet that had you laugh so loud you scared your dog? Want to argue about the next "Laurel vs. Yanny?"
