Health Alert: EPA proposes banning only form of asbestos still imported by U.S. The toxic mineral is linked to about 40,000 U.S. deaths annually.

More than 30 years after it tried and failed to ban most uses of asbestos, the Environmental Protection Agency on Tuesday announced plans to prohibit the only form of the toxic mineral that the United States still imports and uses for new products.
