Hello and welcome to this edition of the Computerworld UK Weekly Roundup. This week we have been busy on the ground at Splunk's .conf event in Orlando as the machine data analytics company expands beyond IT and security into areas like business analytics and IoT. We also heard from the Bank of England about how it drastically rebuilt its security operations centre. Elsewhere we investigated digital boards and how they can supercharge smart city projects. Data breach of the week: As the details of the Facebook hack continue to drip out the Irish Data Protection Commissioner (DPC) has opened an investigation that could end with a $1.63 billion fine. ICYMI: During Dreamforce last week we heard from senior executives from Salesforce and Mulesoft about how the two companies are working together after the 2017 mega acquisition. |
