News Alert: Proposed regulations would require drugmakers to disclose prices in TV ads in Trump administration effort to bring down prices

The Trump administration has proposed regulations that would require list prices of prescription drugs to be included in television advertisements, as part of its attempt to bring down drug prices. The proposal, announced by Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, states that drugs that cost more than $35 per month would have to have their prices disclosed in a "legible textual statement at the end of the advertisement," adding that the information should be in an easy-to-read font and should stay on the screen long enough to be read. The pharmaceutical industry is likely to fight the proposed policy.
