Hello and welcome to the Computerworld UK Weekly Digest. It was a busy week in the world of cloud computing, with the AWS Summit London, Google I/O and Microsoft Build developer conferences all taking place. We got our arms around all three to find the through-line from the big vendors, namely: making AI easier to consume and integrate with applications on their platforms. We also had someone on the ground at KubeCon in Copenhagen, including a story on how containers have slashed server costs at the Financial Times. Elsewhere the ICO has been dispelling myths around GDPR, and Marks and Spencer gave some more details on its recent multi-million-pound deal with TCS. Lastly, we covered a nice story from South Africa. A goodwill partnership from Dimension Data and Cisco has seen rhino poaching cut down to zero on a private game reserve thanks to a brand new IT infrastructure and a load of IoT sensors. We visited the park as the project moves into its second phase, and look at how replicable the solution is for other geographies and endangered species. As always, thanks for reading.
