By day, I'm a writer for BuzzFeed Shopping; by night, I'm a skincare, beauty, and horror movie enthusiast (I will watch the good ones AND the bad ones), and a lover of YA books (also usually horror). I mostly spend my time contemplating how fictional characters have ruined my standards and expectations for romance, and am very passionate about fighting against patriarchy in brown and Asian culture.

 I bought this ring on a whim from this Brooklyn-based woman-owned small biz when I accompanied my friend there, who was checking out a different ring. I didn't expect to walk out with my own purchase but loved how dainty this looked and that it was completely made of pearls rather than just the standard single pearl in the center. Talk about different! I asked to try it just to see, and in the end, I couldn't resist.  I got this sweater in red because I barely have any red in my wardrobe. It's SO soft and stretchy, which is great for layering. I love its cute statement collar, which sets it apart from other knit sweaters, and the vintage/cottagecore look is perf for cozy season. It actually kept me warm on a chilly October day (yes, sweaters are supposed to do that but some can be all style and no warmth). This sweater does both.
 I didn't know what to make of this lipstick/lip balm/plumper hybrid at first but it's quickly become my go-to everyday shade, especially when I need to grab something that'll give my lips quick natural color. It's *literally* bedazzled with pearls, which creates a gorgeous shimmer on the lips and its moisturizing texture makes it a great balm. It looks like a handful with its luxurious packaging and all, but actually does a great job.  This jewelry store is such a small biz, tucked away in the East Village, that it doesn't even have an updated website — I had a hard time not blowing my wallet! When I saw this necklace, I actually left and waited to see if I really wanted it. Spoiler alert: I did and had to go back. It's pretty and dresses up the plainest outfit. If you like dainty jewelry at affordable prices, I recommend a visit.
