The announcement ends speculation about Murphy's future a day after a news report claimed the married Republican had asked his mistress to get an abortion.
"We want negotiations," said Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Tex.). "We saw what happened with health care, when they thought they could roll over the minority, and we saw that didn't work out very well for them."
