| Preliminary data show global temperatures on Friday averaged more than 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit) above a historic norm, the deputy director of the European Union's Copernicus Climate Change Service said Sunday. It doesn't mean that efforts to stop global warming have failed, but is a striking reminder that the climate is moving into uncharted territory after months of record warmth. |
