TOP 10 Highlights of 2018
8 RBG Close-Up Interview Editor in chief, Jane Eisner had the incredible opportunity of interviewing Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It was a spectacular night for the Forward as 1,200 people filled the sanctuary at Washington, D.C.'s Adas Israel Congregation, and more than 11,000 tuned in via webcast to watch.
7 Community Guides This year, we published volume 2 of our popular College Guide, one that ranks more than 200 institutions in terms of academics, life on campus, cost, Israel activity and much more. We also introduced our Synagogue Guide. It serves as a resource to readers nationwide and offers info on synagogues of all shapes, sizes and denominations.
6 A New Forward Generation One-third of our readers are under age 35, which means we're succeeding in engaging a whole new generation of Forward readers. Our digital first strategy reaches young Jews and connects them to Jewish culture, Jewish news and Jewish life.
5 Breaking News We broke the Canary Mission story, revealing the online blacklist's hidden tactics. We uncovered decades of sexual abuse by a respected Jewish educator. And our investigation into a pro-Israel activist led us to discover his secret work on campuses across North America and Europe. And much more!
2 #FearlessWomen in Journalism Our #FearlessWomen in Journalism gala was a huge success! We celebrated a beautiful evening with supporters, friends and family. We honored 5 fearless women; Jane Eisner, Jill Abramson, Dana Bash, Marge Magner and Lynn Povich and gave others the chance to share personal stories of special women in their lives.
We are non-profit and reader supported. We can't do any of this without your help. |
