News Alert: Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine for children under 5 could be available by the end of February, people with knowledge say

The shot would be the first for young children, and vaccine makers are expected as early as Tuesday to submit to federal regulators a request for emergency use authorization for the shot for children six months to 5 years old, according to people with knowledge of the process who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.
